What Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse contributes to Cardinal Health
Nursing is responsible for the delivery of safe and efficient quality nursing care. Examines patients and administers prescribed medications to facilitate healing and increase comfort. Nursing requires training and a license to care for patients.
The Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse supports the nursing staff at South Bay Radiation Oncology. They are responsible for assisting in the delivery of patient care, collection of ongoing patient response to care, and patient education. This position requires someone who is bilingual in Spanish.
Responsibilities
Record patient vital signs: pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height.
Administer medications to patients and monitor the progress throughout the treatment.
May administer injections or give treatments under direction of physician.
Schedule or perform clinical procedures as directed.
Prepare exam rooms for patient visits.
Gather patient information and keep records updated with the relevant data.
Maintain effective communication with the medical personnel, patient and patient?s family.
Treat wounds, change wound dressings.
Collecting samples from patients, which include blood and urine. They may also assist in doing some lab work.
Regular attendance and punctuality.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Ensures that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
Perform any other functions as required by management.
Qualifications
3-6 years of experience, preferred
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience, preferred
1-2 years in an oncology setting a plus
Graduate of an accredited nursing program, preferred
Possess a valid LPN or LVN license, valid in the state of California, in good standing
Bilingual in Spanish
Anticipated hourly range:$24.10 per hour - $36.01 per hour
