Clinical Care Delivery provides high quality, patient-centered care focused on diagnosing, treating and managing care while ensuring the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of the practice.
The Scientist, Laboratory Technical Supervisor is critical to the overall performance, operations and compliance of the laboratory. This position interacts with all the various facets of the company: team members, outside medical facilities, vendors and providers. They are responsible for performing all functions of chemistry and complete blood count specimen collection, processing and reporting. They are also responsible for maintaining lab certifications, logs, records and documentation as needed for compliance, among other duties. They will have 1 direct report in the lab.
This is a full-time opportunity but hours during the week are flexible based on various factors, to be discussed during the interview.
Responsibilities
Perform all functions of chemistry and complete blood count specimen collection, processing, and reporting.
Perform routine maintenance of assigned instrumentation.
Manage lab supply and reagent inventory.
Troubleshoot instrumentation and assay problems.
Evaluate quality controls for problems.
Maintain lab certifications (CLIA
Maintain logs, records and documentation as needed for compliance.
Educates, oversees and evaluates lab support staff.
Manages lab employee schedules for adequate coverage to prevent operation closures.
Regular attendance and punctuality.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Ensures that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
Perform any other functions as required by management.
Qualifications
Bachelor?s degree in science plus 4 years clinical experience in high complexity lab, or relevant equivalent experience
Master?s degree in science plus 2 years clinical experience in high complexity lab, highly preferred
Graduate of an accredited school of medical laboratory technology (MLT (ACSP), MT (ASCP) or equivalent), preferred
Prior experience in an outpatient environment, preferred
Superior phlebotomy skills
