What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.
Job Summary
The Associate II, Warehouse Operations assists on Inbound or Outbound activities as requested by the Warehouse Supervisor meeting quality, safety, productivity and operational standards. This job receives products in the Inbound section. As far as the outbound section, this job ships products.
Schedule
40 hours per week. Monday through Thursday 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
Candidate must be flexible to work different days, schedules, shifts and overtime as per business need
Responsibilities
Performs standard operating procedures to meet current good manufacturing practices (cGMP)
Performs material handling and packaging activities using warehouse equipment (examples: scanner, forklift etc.).
Prepares shipping documents using FedEx and other software such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
Performs surveys and wipe testing to determine the Transportation Index (TI) for outbound product shipments (if Radiation Safety does not perform this testing)
Performs inventory transactions in corporate computer program.
Participates in inventory cycle counting
Demonstrates consistent use of Good Documentation Practices
Supports and participates in safe work practices and safety programs
Has attention to detail and accuracy of work
Follows written Standard Operating Procedures
Safely lifts/palletizes various materials weighing up to 55 pounds
Performs other job duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
1-2 years related work experience and/or training preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) strongly preferred
Material handling equipment experience (forklift and pallet jacks) strongly preferred
Ability to safely lift/palletize various materials weighing up to 55 pounds
Proficiency in SAP preferred
Demonstrates basic material handling/packaging/warehouse equipment skills
Good oral and written communication skills and can demonstrate effectively
Experience in shipping hazardous/dangerous goods preferred
Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and work in a team-oriented environment
