What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health
Warehouse Operations is responsiblefor performing/controlling acombination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.
Qualifications
2+ years Lead or Supervisor experience in a fast paced work environment preferred
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and follow through skills
Must be able to provide proven track record for team accountability, mentoring and coaching, improving team performance, improving productivity and quality, promoting safe work practices, and facility housekeeping
Lean Six Sigma experience preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
High School Diploma or GED preferred, and proficient in math and reading skills. College degree preferred
Proficient experience using Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office. AS400 experience preferred
Self-initiates to foster development and process improvement in all areas and across team boundaries
Accountabilities in this role
Ability to handle multiple projects at a time while meeting deadlines
Ability to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to frequently read written documents and use a computer monitor screen
Assists in conducting new-hire orientation
Performs temperature monitoring and calibration checks
Supports Safety Performance Indicators and safety initiatives
Ensuring that Cardinal Health's principles, policies, and procedures are consistently practiced
Leading and motivating the warehouse worker team to achieve productivity and quality goals
Coordinating workflow to accomplish overall business objectives (i.e., receiving, stocking, customer returns, vendor returns, cage/vault, picking, case stocking, cycle counts, and housekeeping)
Filling-in for others and performing functional tasks daily where/when necessary
Handling general employee inquiries and solves routine problems within scope of the position, referring more complex problems to the next level supervisor
Maintaining positive employee relations
Promoting a team environment and facilitates process improvement
Supporting the shift supervisor and provides input for performance appraisals of warehouse employees
Working closely with other leads and supervisors within the facility to promote teamwork
Providing assistance in the training and development of new hires and retraining of employees
Active accountability for self and others regarding Cardinal Health values and leadership essentials
