Fuse, the commercial technology and innovation center at Cardinal Health, is looking for a versatile experience designer who's excited to craft digital and physical products/services that help real people while supporting your colleagues as a coveted member of the Product Experience team.
As a Senior Product Experience Designer, you will explore, experiment, create, and validate early-stage digital and industrial design concepts that will serve our various customers and end-users - interesting and complex design challenges in a high growth part of Cardinal's overall business.
The healthcare space is exploding with the convergence of new service models, technologies, health sector shifts, and a growing demand for open access to health information. Expectations are higher than ever for simple, useful, and delightful experiences as more people find their real and digital worlds interwoven with the people and spaces that serve their needs. It's a landscape ripe for thoughtful design and deep collaboration across many disciplines to create the next generation of products and services.
Responsibilities:
Determine both quantitative & qualitative insights and translate them into actionable design tasks
Create & test sophisticated prototypes and user flows for new digital/physical product concepts
Guide product teams to deeply understand customer/user behavior, pain points, and needs
Clearly identify assumptions and effectively (and creatively) test them
Articulate experience challenges & opportunities for your product concept and in broader healthcare
Relentlessly consider the whole system and each detail from the user's perspective
Explain your design rationale to non-designers and build a shared understanding of the vision
Collaborate across multiple functions to deliver an exceptional cohesive experience
Understand the business and prioritize what adds the most value for our users/customers
Model a human-centered approach on your team in order to deliver better products and build a competitive advantage
Build and nurture relationships with cross-functional teams and internal/external stakeholders
Demonstrate qualities of transparency, trust, vulnerability, psychological safety, and collaboration
Qualifications
Need to have:
5-7 years' experience designing digital and physical products/services utilizing a human-centered methodology preferred
A clear grasp of experience design best practices for digital and real-world touch points
IA, journey mapping, blueprinting, and interaction design chops and proficiency with relevant tools
Proven digital design, industrial design, and creative development skills
Experience planning/facilitating/analyzing user research, service prototyping, and usability testing
Exceptional visual, verbal, and written communication skills in service of great storytelling
Comfort leading and designing within a modern product/service design lifecycle
An ability to guide team members and stakeholders through a design thinking mindset
Nice to have:
BS/MS degree in human factors, design, psychology, sociology, or relevant experience preferred
Experience designing in healthcare and/or logistics
A conversant understanding of strategy, operations, and technology behind healthcare businesses
Experience designing modern data visualizations
